Export the period to Tally
Prepares and downloads Tally-ready Excel and XML exports for every transaction type and master in this store — sales, credit and debit notes, purchases, expenses, customers and stock items — from one Export Hub.
The two ways an import goes wrong
Checking before you export
Each invoice in the selection list is badged with how it will be taxed.
- IGST
- An inter-state supply.
- Intra
- CGST and SGST apply.
-
Scan the badges before exporting.
-
An invoice badged the wrong way means the customer's state or place of supply is wrong, not the export.
-
Fix the customer master and the badge follows.
The Export Hub
Transactions is one card per type — Sales, Credit Notes, Debit Notes, Purchases, Expenses — each showing its voucher count, total value, and any export-blocking issues for the current date range. Masters adds Customer and Stock Item cards, tickable and click-through in exactly the same way.
-
Tick a card's checkbox to include that type in a bulk download.
-
Or click the card body to drill in and review, preview or export just that type alone.
- Download Selected
- Everything ticked. The button label counts what is ticked as you go.
- Download Everything
- Every transaction type and master, ignoring the checkboxes.
From / To filters every card's voucher count and total, and every tab's rows, to a date range — Sales, Credit Notes and Debit Notes by invoice date; Purchases and Expenses by bill date.
-
Pick a From date, a To date, or both — leave either blank to leave that end open.
-
A Clear button appears once at least one is set, to reset both in one click.
Warnings, instructions and the sales gate
Warnings flags problems that would make a record export broken or incomplete in Tally: missing customer or vendor names, unresolved sales ledgers, zero taxable values, invoice date and number sequence conflicts, stock items with no ledger mapping, and cancelled invoices swept into the batch.
-
Click Warnings to open the full list, grouped by severity.
-
Once the current tab has nothing to flag, the button relabels to No warnings and disables itself.
Instructions explains which ledgers the current tab's vouchers post to, and the Tally menu path to import the file.
-
Click Instructions.
-
A popup opens showing the ledger postings for the current tab and the exact Tally menu path to import the file — including the rounding mode in use.
The gate on the sales side
I understand — continue confirms you have read the Warnings list for Sales, Credit Notes or Debit Notes and moves on to export.
-
Click I understand — continue after reading the warnings. It only appears when the current tab has at least one warning to review.
-
For Sales it opens Choose what to download next. For Credit Notes and Debit Notes it downloads immediately.
Choose what to download then offers to bundle the Customer master, Stock items and Sales ledgers into the same download as your sales vouchers.
-
Tick any masters — Customer master, Stock items, Sales ledgers — to bundle them in.
-
Click Download.
-
You get a single Excel file if you ticked no masters, or one ZIP containing everything if you ticked any.
Sales, credit notes and debit notes
Four filters narrow what the tab shows and what the download contains.
-
Inv. No. Range — type a From and/or To invoice number. It restricts by numeric sequence rather than by formatted text, and either end can be left blank.
-
Customer — open the dropdown and tick individual customers, or use Select All / Select None. Click Done to close it; the selection is already applied as you tick.
-
Invoice Order — click to toggle newest-first against oldest-first. The button's own label always names the order currently applied.
-
Clear Filters — resets the date range, the invoice-number range and the customer filter together. It only appears once at least one of them is active.
Download Sales Excel
Downloads the filtered invoices — or, on the Credit Notes and Debit Notes tabs, the notes — as a Tally-ready Excel voucher file. The label and count follow whichever tab and row selection are active.
-
Tick specific rows to export just those, or leave none ticked to export everything in the current filter.
-
Click Download Sales Excel — or Download Credit Notes / Debit Notes Excel on those tabs.
-
Sales always opens Choose what to download next. Credit Notes and Debit Notes download straight away, unless there are warnings to review first.
Ledger Masters XLSX / Ledger Masters XML
Downloads the Tally sales and GST ledger names from Settings › Tally Ledger Defaults — or your per-item overrides — as a standalone master file, in whichever format suits the import path you use.
-
On the Sales tab, click Ledger Masters XLSX for the Alt+O › Masters › Default Template import path.
-
Or click Ledger Masters XML instead, for the Alt+O › Masters › select XML file path.
New masters for Tally
A collapsible section on the Sales tab only, listing the customers and stock items that need importing into Tally before this export's vouchers — so Tally does not reject them as unknown parties and items. Click the section header to expand or collapse it.
-
Choose New in period or All in this export. The first is only available once a From date is set above; without one, Quillix always shows everything.
-
Tick rows in the list — or use Select All / Clear.
-
Click Download Customer Excel or Download Stock Items Excel. If nothing is ticked, Quillix asks you to select at least one first.
Purchases and expenses
Download Purchases Excel and Download Expenses Excel take every non-cancelled purchase or other-expense in the current date range as a Tally-ready Excel file — Purchase vouchers for Purchases, Journal vouchers for Expenses.
-
Set From / To above if you need a date range — it is optional.
-
Click the matching Download button for Purchases or Expenses.
Two master files go in ahead of them. Vendor Master XLSX downloads your vendors as Sundry Creditor party ledgers; Purchase Ledgers XLSX downloads the Purchase A/c, Input GST, Purchase Discount and Round Off ledgers these vouchers need. If there are no vendors yet, Quillix shows a warning rather than downloading an empty file.
Customers and stock items
The two master cards on the Export Hub each open to a preview with one download.
-
Open the Customers or Stock Items card from the Export Hub.
-
Click Download Customer Master XLSX or Download Stock Items XLSX.
-
If there are none yet, Quillix shows a warning instead of downloading an empty file.
Common questions
- Why does Tally reject rows for unknown parties or items?
- The masters have not been imported yet. Import the Ledger Masters, Customer master and Stock Items files into Tally before the vouchers — New Masters for Tally lists exactly which ones this export needs.
- Why did importing create duplicate ledgers in Tally?
- A ledger name that differs from the client Tally company by even one word creates a second ledger rather than updating the first. Never rename ledgers by hand, and rebuild the chart of accounts before every export.
- Do warnings block the export?
- No. Critical warnings never block it — Quillix still lets the export through, but the resulting Tally voucher may be incomplete. Fix the record at source and recheck rather than exporting past it.
