Signing in
Quillix accounts work one way, for everybody — firm staff and a client's own users alike. Knowing the shape of it turns most sign-in problems into a two-minute fix rather than a support thread.
The one rule
Nobody ever chooses somebody else's password. There is no field anywhere in
Quillix that sets one directly. Every account is created with an email address, and the
person follows a link to set their own — which also verifies the address.
How an account starts
-
Somebody at the firm creates it — in Users by Client for a client's staff or for your own partners and associates, or by approving a User Request raised by a client admin.
-
Quillix emails that person a link to set their own password.
-
They sign in with the email address on the account — not the username, which is a display label.
An account with no email is a trap
A user without an email address can only sign in on the device they were first set
up on — one cleared browser away from being locked out. The
Firm Dashboard raises an
Action required banner naming anybody in this state; adding their address is enough
to fix it, and Quillix creates the sign-in automatically.
When somebody cannot get in
-
An auditor opens their row in Users by Client and clicks Send password reset email.
-
They receive a link and choose a new password themselves.
If the reset says no account exists
The address on the profile does not match the one the sign-in was created
with. Correct the email on the profile first, then resend — sending again to the
wrong address will keep failing in exactly the same way.
Where you land after signing in
What you see depends entirely on who you are, and it is worth knowing which of the two modes you are in before you type anything.
- Partner or manager
- Platform mode — the firm's own screens. Open a client from Load Client Data to get into their books.
- Associate
- A deliberately narrow platform view — Select Client and Settings, listing only the clients assigned to you. An empty list means nobody has assigned you any.
- Client admin or user
- Straight into that one client's books. There is no platform mode for you, and no way to see another client.
Check the top bar
While a firm user is inside a client, the top bar shows an
Auditor · Impersonating marker naming that client, with an Exit
control. It is the one reliable answer to "whose books am I in", and it appears only in store
mode.
The guided tour
-
Quillix runs a guided walkthrough for your role the first time you arrive.
-
To see it again, click Replay Tutorial in Settings.
-
Admins and users can switch between English and Tamil inside the tour.
